Factors Influencing Students' Career Chooses in Science and Technology: Implications for High School Science Curricula

摘要
The purpose of the study was to explore / investigate the factors influencing Turkish high school students' career choices in science and technology. 1192 high school students (629 female, 558 male, 5 did not indicate their gender, age range 14-17) were administrated Career Choice Instrument (CCI) in ROSE survey together with demographic measure. Series of MANOVAs demonstrated that high school students' career choices and preferences were influenced by gender, school type, mother and father education level and family income. Univariate ANOVA on the six sub-scales of CCI revealed significant and insignificant effects of these selected factors. The results of this study were discussed the implications for high school science curricula (C) 2015 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
