摘要
The production of α-FeOOH and α-Fe2O3 particles in the nanometric form with large surface area using sol-gel method was studied. Particle size measurement from XRD patterns reveals that the particle size decreases with increase in pH. It was shown that with increasing pH, the shape of the particles change randomly from spherical to elongated grains. It was found that the concentration of Fe(No3)3, pH of the reaction, aging period, and NaH2PO4 solution play an important role in the morphology of the precipitated particles.
