Complex formation of rhodium(III), iridium(III), ruthenium(II), and osmium(II) with germanium(II) in aqueous solutions of hydrofluoric acid

摘要
Complex formation of platinum metals with GeF3- ligands in HF aqueous solutions was studied by spectrophotometry. The positions of germanium-to-metal charge-transfer bands in the electronic spectra of Me-Ge complexes were determined. Substitution of GeF3- ions for ammine, thiourea, and SnF3- ligands in Me-Ge compounds was studied. Procedures for the synthesis of Me-Ge complexes were developed. Distinctions in the electronic properties of GeF3- and SnF3- ligands were discussed.
