Research on the Relationship between Contractor's Project Competence and Performance

The construction project owner usually select the contractor by evaluating the contractor's competence or strength. However, they are often perplexed by the fact that the well-chosen contractor does not consequentially present owner the best performance. Base on the enterprise competence theory, this paper carry out the research on the relationship between contractor's project competence and performance. By imposing the positive study and using the methodology of Structural Equation Modeling, validate the positive correlativity between contractor's project competence and performance; analyze the important impact of competence activation and environment restriction on bringing the project competence into play, gaining the project performance and achieving the project objective.
