摘要
Determining cutting parameters in marble machining based on computer-controlled machine (CNC) is important for product quality. The aim of this study was to use the Taguchi experiment design method to select machining parameters to improve product surface quality in CNC milling of marbles. Experimental studies were conducted with a 6-mm-diameter cutting edge on six metamorphic rocks. Experiments were performed using the Taguchi experimental design method (L9 orthogonal array). TheS/N(signal/noise) ratio based on "the lower the better" approach was calculated separately for each marble sample to determine appropriate machining parameters. Statistically significant and effective machining parameters were determined using variance analysis depending on the lowest roughness value. Results show that the parameters of depth and feed rate have the greatest effect on surface roughness in the machining of marbles.
