摘要
This paper reviews recent electrical process optimisation and control system developments within the UK foundry industry, which have led to wider opportunities for process automation. The benefits resulting from these developments include improved energy efficiency, production flexibility, improved quality control, and load optimisation with associated opportunities for energy cost, and energy demand, reduction. Case study results are currently being analysed and demonstrate the generic improvements referred to in this paper.
