Discussion on Strategies to Ecotourism Development in China in the Context of Low-carbon Economy

Aiming at increasing energy productivity, promoting clean energy and pursuing green GDP, low-carbon economy features low energy consumption, low pollution and low discharge. Its essence is the innovation on energy technology, carbon emission reduction, industry structure and traditional idea. As one of the most important approaches to the sustainable tourism in China, ecotourism forms the key sector of low-carbon economy. This paper begins with discussion on the definition of ecotourism and low-carbon economy respectively and then demonstrates key problems with development of ecotourism in China. It concludes with measures on ecotourism development in China in the context of low-carbon economy based on development modes, policy-making and conscious cultivation.
