摘要
The flipped classroom is a pedagogical model that raises the need to transfer part of the teaching and learning process outside the classroom in order to use class time for the development of more complex cognitive processes that enhance a better and meaningful learning. During the academic year 2016/17, a flipped-classroom experience has been carried out in the subject of Sustainable Production at the Technical University of Madrid. The aim of the experience was to implicate students in their own learning and to increase their activity in class and in out-of-class work, so academic performance and learning of specific and core competences should be improved. Along the grade, there were proposed some activities before the lesson, activities in the classroom and after the lesson. The results showed that the flipped-classroom methodology increased the percentage of students that passed the subject and also increased the final score. Students considered this methodology as useful, formative and better than the traditional one. This experience improved both academic performance and in-class and out-of-class students' activity.
