VOCATIONAL TEACHING: USE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES BY TEACHERS OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL CONTEXT

摘要
This article presents the main results of a study about the use that teachers of vocational courses in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) make of the technologies outside the classroom. The methodology used consisted of 32 interviews with teachers from 4 schools, who in the academic year 2011/2012 taught vocational course students students in the field of ICT. Eight interviews were carried out per school, four to teachers of the socio-cultural and / or scientific component and four to teachers of the technical component, in order to understand the teachers' use of ICT outside the school context and if this has repercussions on their skills and mastery of ICT in teaching with technology. The main results of the study show some variety and intensity in the use of ICT by teachers, but this results essentially from the teachers' experience and confidence in the technical component, who are obviously more mobilized for their use, both at school and on a personal level. Although the other teachers have ICT equipment at home, it is not proven by their testimonies that this means a more enriching use of ICT or a greater confidence in their handling. The lack of comfort and confidence in the use of ICT, as well as the lack of training in the field are some of the reasons most frequently pointed out by teachers to justify the poor use of ICT. Although they teach vocational courses in the field of ICT, this does not increase the use of ICT. Outside the school context, the use of the technologies by the teachers of the socio-cultural and scientific component is still very small and not very enriching, which is reflected in the classroom, thus penalizing the teaching and learning process.
