摘要
It is surveyed that the problems in writing are caused by the lack of metaphorical competence. Theoretically, the metaphorical competence has profound effect on the language production, and facilitates foreign language teaching and learning. The present writer, based on the metaphorical theory, is about to justify her opinions about metaphorical competence (MC) can be acquired in classroom instruction, and it can make a difference to the writing skills, especially to the lexical density, the metaphorical expressions and reducing linguistic errors. The research findings indicate that metaphorical competence plays the constructive role in raising students' linguistic competence and their writing skills.
