A survey of the genus Seira (Hexapoda: collembola: entomobryidae) in the Americas

摘要：
The 57 species of Seira recorded from the Americas are reviewed. Seven of these belong. to other genera and six are too poorly known to be placed. Three are synonyms of other, poorly described species, and three described as infraspecific variants are still so considered. A new species, Seira nunezi, is described and the African species Seira delamarei is recorded from Ecuador. The remaining 33 species are keyed, shown in a table of characteristics, figured, and briefly discussed. Their geographic distribution is shown.
