摘要
Identification processes in logistics often involve the requirement to reliably identify individuals. The individuals in charge of these procedures usually have their own way of identity confirmation (signature, PIN code, biometric identification, radio frequency identification, card, etc.). Biometrics can be used in many applications as an electronic signature for the delivery and receipt of goods. In order to ensure personal integrity it is necessary to reduce the scope of information to a legally acceptable limit thus maintaining confidentiality on the one side and security on the other. Due to the continuous optimization and automation of personal identification in logistics, there is an increasing trend towards efficiency in the identification processes. Biometry makes the identification process faster and simpler by using a person's unique characteristics without the need for any additional identification elements. However, it is necessary to research the reliability parameters of these identification methods in order to avoid unnecessary complications that could arise from selecting unsuitable technology. During research the authors carried out the 'Markov chains' mathematical model for determining the effectiveness of biometric systems. With actual ongoing research and development projects in this area, this study could be confirmed empirically. The research focuses on the activity in the logistics process of biometric systems, and explains what the obtained result means. The research gives an original Markov chain model, which is necessary to determine the policy of biometric measures, security mechanisms in the supply chain and successful implementation of a quality identification process.
