摘要
Development and dissemination of new Information and Communication technologies has lead to many new practices in the area of research and university education; among which are remote control automated laboratories. The defining characteristic of these laboratories is the ability to access applications developed in a local site yet acquire and process the data from anywhere. Due to the complexity of their start up, these types of laboratories are currently scarce and are primarily used for university education. In response, this article proposes that once initiated, the economic and educational advantages are endless. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the software and hardware necessary to set up this type of laboratory to teach Electronics to Electronic Engineers. The laboratories are designed to use innovate methodology based on data transmission and real time access to applications using Virtual Instruments (VI) designed with LabView (R) - Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench. LabView (R) is a graphical programming language widely adopted throughout industry, academia, and research laboratories as the standard for data acquisition and instrument control software.
