Land use transformation plays a key role in spatial planning, it refers to the changes in land use morphology including dominant morphology and recessive morphology of a certain region over a certain period of time driven by socio-economic change and innovation. In this paper, we chose the arable land to do study. As an important subsystem in the natural ecosystem, the arable land not only guarantees food security, but also has ecological service functions. To date, the arable land transformation provides basis for management, make a decision and layout of spatial planning, efficient and rational of land resource use, promoting area sustainable development in rapid urbanization areas. At present, the introduction of land use transition to the academic circle in China becomes a hot topic, researchers focuses on researches related socio-economic development, the spatial-temporal variation characteristics of land use function or land use/ cover change, the driving mechanism based on land use transformation, analyzing the process of land use transformation and the changes of ecosystem service function, and how affects the land resource management, development of urban and rural, and land consolidation. As one of the important part for change of ecosystem service, land use transformation is not only changing the natural landscape, but also to change the function of ecosystem service. Recently, issues related to land use transformation in China have attracted interest among a wide variety of researchers as well as government officials. In this paper, we choose Maoming as the study area. It is a city which is located in the southernmost part of China, the westernmost part of Guangdong Province. I used remote sensing data in different periods of 2010, 2015 and 2018, analyzing the land use structure in different periods using geographic information techniques, and exploring the driving mechanism of land use transformation spatial-temporal patterns, and their effects on ecosystem service change. Driven by the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Maoming has unique geographic advantages and ecological environment, the transformation between the different land use types during a certain period of time arise will be changed by the socio-economic development, and also it affects the ecosystem service value and function. This paper analyzes the effects of land use change for the supply of four service function in ecosystem service: supply function, regulating function, cultural function and supporting function, from the perspective of land use morphology transformation (the dominant/recessive morphology). Therefore, it is of great significance to carry out study of land use transformation and eco-environment service change and explore the influence factors between them for understanding the regional environment and achieving coordinated development of socioeconomic and ecological environments.
