摘要
A practical, concise and scalable synthesis of a key intermediate in the preparation of the alkaloid ningalin C was developed over four steps in 29% overall yield. The procedure involves three commercially available starting materials and uses the chemistry of squaric esters. In view of the relevance of scalability in recent times, herein is highlighted the importance of the developed strategy, allowing the preparation of close to 300 mg of the key quinone.
