摘要
Bio-oils from biomass pyrolysis are promising 2nd generation biofuels and a potential source of valuable oxygen-containing chemicals. A detailed knowledge of bio-oil composition is needed to achieve their more widespread use. Over the past decade, a petroleomic analysis using high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) has been widely applied for the pyrolysis bio-oil characterization. In this work, the principles of HRMS characterization of complex mixtures are presented. In addition, structural information that was obtained using HRMS for pyrolysis bio-oils is summarized and discussed. The presented results could help us to understand the chemical composition of bio-oils in more detail and facilitate their further use.
