摘要
Pyrolysis is a technology that has been extensively studied and developed throughout the world as a practical process in the sustainable use of agricultural, forestry and industrial waste. This review examines the work of several research groups that evaluated the condition pyrolysis and biomass used, with the biocidal potential of bio-oils produced from this thermochemical conversion process in insects, fungi, and bacteria of medical and economic importance. Based on the literature, phenolic compounds, fatty acids, and acetic acid are some of the compounds present in bio-oils and appear to be responsible for the insecticidal effect, while the antimicrobial property of bio-oils was associated with the content of carbonyl compounds, phenolic derivatives, and organic acids, mainly acetic acid. Pyrolysis products are, in fact, promising as future pesticides and antimicrobials. However, further studies should be conducted investigating the chemical composition and mode of action of bio-oils.
