摘要
The capacity of the magnetic fluid seal depends on the magnetic field and the saturation magnetization of the magnetic fluid. There are many factors that influence the magnetic field and the seal capacity of the magnetic fluid seal, such as the sealing gap, the shaft eccentricity, the shaft diameter, and the centrifugal force. In this paper, these factors are analyzed by numerical computations. When the material and structure are the same, the magnetic fluid seal capacity will reduce with the increasing of the sealing gap. When the shaft diameter is large the gravity should be considered. The centrifugal force has influence on the magnetic fluid seal capacity. (C) 2006 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
