摘要
The objective of this research is to conduct a systematic review of empirical organisational studies focusing on e-leadership. The databases consulted were Scopus, Science Direct, Ebsco Host and Web of Science. In total, 29 empirical studies, in English and Spanish, published between 2012 and 2021, that met the selection criteria were reviewed. Most of the studies suggest that empirical research should be conducted in different countries and in organisations in various economic sectors; in addition, e-leadership is an option for those who need to rely on talents that are geographically dispersed and strengthen inter-organisational alliances, fostering the creation of virtual teams and achieving greater work performance and, consequently, greater organisational performance. Finally, its implications and limitations are discussed.
