Production Scheduling and Capacity Utilization in Terms of Mass Customized Manufacturing

As well-known good planning is a prerequisite to scheduling. This paper outlines methodology framework to optimize schedules in order to employ earliest due date criterion that plays crucial role in mass customization environment. For this purpose, the new concept for production scheduling is described by using proprietary software. In the second part of the paper, the proposed methodology framework was applied and explained on the theoretical example. Enumeration and analysis of the selected production indicators are also provided in this part. The last section of the paper summarizes useful findings.
