The Teacher's Role in Multimedia-based Autonomous Learning in College English Teaching and Learning

The development of multimedia technology is further promoting the College English Teaching reform. College English autonomous learning model, based on multimedia technology, is one of the most important developing trends. However, most research seems to pay little attention to the role of the teacher in the processing of autonomous learning. This paper is to investigate the current situation of multimedia-based autonomous learning in college English teaching, point out the importance of the teacher's role in it. Then analysis the new role of the college teacher and put forward some advice for them to realize their confronted challenges to provide the better autonomous learning environment for the learners and facilitate the language learning more effectively.
