摘要
The selective activation/functionalization of benzhydryl C(sp(3))-H bonds is documented. The gold complex XPhosAuNTf(2) turned out to be an efficient catalyst (5mol%) to transform readily available propargylic esters into di- or trisubstituted naphthalenes in high yield. A 1,5-hydride shift is postulated as the key step of the cascade reaction sequence.
