The Lab of the Professional Master's degree in Architectonical Restoration

The Lab of the Professional Master's degree in Architectonical Restoration represents the element of continuity accompanying the didactics' development and entirely dedicated to the application of a study case. In 2011 and 2012, the Torre dei Conti - massive medieval building now disused and partially compromised - has been chosen as it. It presents itself as a joint between the modern Via Cavour and the visible ruins of Nerva's forum. The Lab's aim is to teach how a restoration project's redaction develops with available dates and in a given time. In this case, the Municipal Superintendence of Rome allowed access and made the necessary material within a fruitful ten-year cooperation to the Professional Master's degree in Architectonical Restoration of RomaTre University. The results are shown in the tables illustrating the article; they provide documentary evidence of the subjects discussed in the Lab: restoration of the building at its current conditions; re-creation of the original image through partial or entire reconstruction of its collapsed parts; restoration of the Tower's current urban context.
