Assessment of City Competitiveness with Jinan and Qingdao as Examples

摘要
A correct analysis of a city's competitiveness means a lot for the local government. This article takes Jinan and Qingdao as examples and adopts the method of Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP). It analyzes the pivotal influential factors on city competitiveness and constructs an assessment index system. The assessment system can make an objective comparison in both breadth wise and lengthways among different cities and the same city at different period of time. This does not only enrich the theoretical basis of city competitiveness research but also provides necessary instrument for government's decision-making. Therefore, the assessment system has its theoretical and practical value to a certain degree.
