Teaching Translation to Non-English Majors under Cross-cultural Context

Translation teaching to non-English majors has long been neglected and the importance of translation teaching to non-English majors has been underestimated. In light of the present situation of translation teaching to non-English majors, this paper analyzes the importance of translation teaching to non-English majors from intercultural perspective. By the analysis of the relationship between translation and culture, it is discussed that the emphasis on the importance of translation teaching to non-English majors will accordingly promote students' intercultural communication competence and contribute to the improvement of the awareness of mother-tongue culture.
