摘要
The paper describes findings of a study of correlation between cognitive ability and personality characteristics in intellectually gifted school children of I, III, V, VII and IX grades (600 subjects altogether). The study revealed general and age- specific correlations between cognitive indices, between personality indices and between cognitive and personality indices. It also defined the structure of the correlations at different stages of school instruction and demonstrated increasing integration of the components in the structure of giftedness with age, including growth of negative correlations of intellectual ability and adjustment motivation in adolescence, which is a sign of greater influence of personality components on development of giftedness in middle school.
