A Research on the Training Modes of Chinese Newly-upgraded Universities Based on the Wiles Test

摘要
Using graduates of Chinese newly-upgraded universities (NUUs) as the sample, A Wiles test on the Human Capital Hypothesis vs. the Screening Hypothesis of education was conducted. The results supported the former, i.e., higher education was more likely a production means than just a signal for the sample. This result has practical implications for the choice of the training mode (fit vs adapt) of the NUUs, which means the NUUs should adopt the "fit" training mode and adjust their curriculum and faculty structure to accommodate with the skill demands in job markets.
