Guarantee Mechanism for the Construction of China's Livestock and Poultry Breeding System

Livestock and poultry breeding system is the basis for the sustainable development of Animal Husbandry. By analyzing the process of livestock and poultry breeding system construction over the years, this paper summarizes the current situation and points out the main problems of the livestock and poultry breeding system construction. It shows that long-term and stable financial support, strict supervision, sufficient protection and exploitation of indigenous genetic resources are the important measures for China's breeding system construction. Hence, this paper suggests that Chinese government should establish a guarantee mechanism, which consists of the funding mechanism, quality supervision and management mechanism, protection and exploitation mechanism, to perfect China's livestock and poultry breeding system.
