摘要：

As an important part of foreign direct investment strategy, overseas R&D investment has become an essential means in improving the technical ability and international competitiveness of enterprises. Based on the authoritative data from 1998-2015, this paper made a statistic analysis on the strategic layout of overseas R&D investment made by Chinese listed manufacturing companies. The results indicates: (1) Overseas R&D investment by our listed manufacturing companies are still in the primary stage, only a few enterprises develop their own global R&D network; (2) Market-seeking is the main driving force in overseas R&D investment by Chinese listed manufacturing companies;(3) Private enterprises have become the leading strength in overseas R&D investment.
