摘要
Over dependence on fossil fuels for electricity generation and concentration of large capacity sources of this type to save cost of operation is attributed as one of the reasons for green house gas emissions and the global warming. This calls for increased use of renewable sources. Here the properties of the sources are different and the output is highly constrained. Storage is a better option for reliable supply. It is proposed to use PSO based optimization to get optimal power flow solution for a powergrid consisting mainly solar and wind energy sources, supported with storage batteries. The constraints considered are the non-linear power flow equations of the system, reactive and active power of generators, state of charge of battery storage and limits on line loading and bus voltages.
