摘要：
The article deals with the importance of logistics centres in supply chain. The logistics centre is a place of concentration of logistics services supply and its aim is optimizing of the total logistics cost in the supply chain. Furthermore, the paper deals with the characteristics of commercial and public logistics centres. The most important component of total logistics costs are transportation costs and therefore when planning and operation of logistics centres managers should pay attention to the influence of the state and level of transportation infrastructure and the overall availability of transport.
