摘要
Slovakia's school reform provides the education employees with new initiatives, which introduce new changes into schools. Should these changes bring the desired effect, they require adequate preparation, which must definitely include the analysis of the current state of schools, a high quality autoevaluation of schools, as well as of the individual teachers. Our paper focuses on the autoevaluation of the primary school teachers, on achieving the awareness of their education needs and planning the continual professional education. Auto-evaluation requires the teachers to have the ability of auto-diagnostics, self-reflection and self-projection, the ability to carry out action research in the classroom, the ability to learn, to engage in the life-long education and the ability to plan their own professional development. The paper presents the results of monitoring the education needs among the Slovak primary school teachers in 2010 and the professional activities focused on their self-culture. This work was supported by the Slovak Research and Development Agency under the contract No. APVV-0026-07.
