摘要
In the current context of the pandemic of the COVID-19, it has been evidenced the necessity of analyzing once again the predominant development paradigms at world level and, therefore, the status of the different groups of countries. This status cannot identify with the economic growth or the economic development or with certain consumption indicators. Starting from the carried out bibliographical analysis and the official data taken from the World Health Organization, it is necessary to argue on what a Marxist conception of development be in this respect and it practical confirmation in times of coronavirus. It is concluded that the humanity will have to face big and multidimensional challenges in the future, which will demand a radical change in the development conception, being more centered on the human being and the protection of the environment rather than on capital gains.
