摘要
Student engagement leads to student success both academically and, eventually, professionally. The purpose of this article is to highlight best-practices for enhancing student engagement specifically in the post-COVID19 pandemic face-to-face classroom of the prelicensure nursing program. This article examines three themes that arose from a review of current literature including changes to nursing education and student engagement secondary to the COVID-19 pandemic; technology used in engagement activities; and low-tech strategies and activities to effectively engage learners and promote positive achievement of outcomes. Additionally, this article outlines the significance of this research for nursing students and nurse educators as well as long-term impacts on students as they enter the nursing profession. Finally, areas for future research are examined including variables that impact engagement such as class size, demographics, and content delivery, as well as long-term research into the resiliency, or lack thereof, of this generation of nurses.(c) 2023 Organization for Associate Degree Nursing.
