摘要
2-Arylphenols have been synthesized by KOH/DMSO mediated tandem SNAr/desulfurization reactions of dibenzothiophene dioxide. Diversely substituted phenols such as 2,4-diarylated and challenging 2,5-diarylated ones are obtained in this transformation. Based on the experimental evidence, a mechanism is proposed. Synthetic utility of sulfinic ester and 2-arylphenol have been showcased.(c) 2023 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
