摘要
In a high-density computation note of the data centre, at least 4 similar to 6 point-of-load (POL) converter modules (a specific product family of DC-DC converters) are installed to provide sufficient high current to the CPUs/GPUs. Normally this type of DC-DC converter takes about more than 20% of the total area of the motherboard, therefore the performance of that will highly affect the whole computation rack. This paper proposed a practical evaluation methodology for power converters, especially for the high-end POL converters with multiple outputs which are the representative products in the power electronics industry. The evaluation of a four-output POL converter is given as an example. Experiments show that the proposed methodology is feasible and can evaluate the performance of a POL converter comprehensively and accurately.
