摘要
The present study aimed to standardize the optimum time of fall budding to produce feathered apple nursery plants with 20 treatment combinations of five different times of budding (last week of August, 1st week of September, 2nd week of September, 3rd week of September, 4th week of September) and four different clonal rootstocks (M.9 T337, Bud. 9, Bud. 10, Bud. 118) replicated thrice. The different timing of budding exhibited a significant negative correlation with bud take success, saleable plants, growth, and physiological traits. The highest bud takes success and plant growth was recorded in chip budding performed in the last week of August, significantly followed by budding performed in the 1st week of September. Bud. series (Bud. 118, Bud. 10, and Bud. 9) clonal rootstocks respond better to fall budding in comparison to M.9 T337 concerning production of apple nursery plants with the highest growth and physiological traits.
