Design considerations for the intraplant communications systems of nuclear power generating stations are presented with emphasis on the design aspects for improved performance. Operational parameters are described for the paging, maintenance and calibration, commercial telephone, radio, and safe shutdown communications sytems. Design criteria are also presented for the communications requirements of 10 CFR 73. 55 ″Requirements for the Physical Protection of Licensed Activites in Nuclear Power Reactors Against Industrial Sabotage.″
