The propagation of light along a layer magnetic structure simulating a 180 degree domain wall is studied by solving Maxwell's equations for a gyrotropic medium. Localized wave solutions are found and the conditions for their existence are determined. When the width of the magnetooptic inhomogeneity is small, then for a particular orientation of the transverse component of the gyrotropic vector in neighboring domains relative to the direction of light propagation, there exists one localized mode in which all three components of the electric vector are nonzero and the degrees of localization of the transverse components are different. This leads to the appearance of two characteristic lengths, L//1 and L//2, which determine the attenuation of the longitudinal component of the Poynting vector in the transverse direction. Estimates are made of the characteristic size of the wave localization region for YbPrBiIG. The possibility of applying this model of a magnetooptic inhomogeneity to actual 180 degree Bloch domain walls is discussed.
