摘要
A new type conductor has been developed to minimize conductor loss and to increase the transmission capacity of underground power cable. This is a Milliken type conductor which is a segmental conductor composed of plural segments which are insulated from each other, laid around a central duct often containing a supporting spiral and bound together with metal tapes. This conductor has low skin effect and interlayer insulation. A new theory and approximate formula for the calculation of skin effect on Milliken type conductors are presented.
