A novel pressure switch line which incorporates a three-cornered balance plate that transmits the force from the pressure-sensing capsule to the twin adjusting springs is described. The most interesting feature of the design is the complete separation of the pressure transducer from the electrical chamber. For the new entry (a combination diaphragm-piston design), the designers have selected a segment of the market that lies between low-cost pressure switches for simple on-off signaling and protection such as that for gas station compressors and laundry machines, and the highly sophisticated pressure-electrical transducers in the process industries.
