A mathematical model for calculating the chemical composition of the metal in the center of the weld in welding with the additional hot filler was constructed. The proposed calculation and experimental methods show that on adding the filler to the zone which separates the process of melting of the filler from the process of melting of the electrode (p greater than 0. 3), the concentration of the element in the center of the resultant two-layer weld (in the range of the examined conditions) is proportional to p, beta , and inversely proportional to the heat input in welding. Comparison of the calculated and experimental results shows that they are in satisfactory agreement.
