CRYSTALLIZATION PROCESS IN QUARTZ CERAMICS.

摘要
The mechanical strength of quartz ceramic increases to a temperature of 1200 degree C, after which it begins to drop. Cristobalite formed at temperatures below 1200 degree C, in contrast to cristobalite obtained by heating at higher temperatures, does not give sharp volume changes when heated. As a result, its presence in quartz ceramic does not cause failure when subjected to thermal shock. Additional heat treatment of quartz ceramic at elevated temperatures for crystallization is undesirable since this process occurs during heating under working conditions.
