Effect of Boron Nitride on Crystallization of the Quartz Ceramics

摘要
The effect of boron nitride on the crystallization of quartz ceramic and the mechanism was studied. Results show that the adding of BN leads to the suppression of the crystallization of the quartz ceramics. BN promotes new bonding reaction at about 750 degrees C, which increases the resistance of the bond rearrangement to hinder the transition process that the Si-O bond arranged by disordered state to an ordered state. So the addition of BN leads to the suppression of the crystallization.
