A study has been made of the effect of temperature on the profile of the fundamental absorption edge and of the optical modulation of this edge in the case of cadmium selenide containing dislocations. The experimental results are explained by the presence of electric fields associated with structure defects and by a change in the charge state of these effects under the influence of illumination and temperature variations.
