Optical absorption by colloidal quantum dots of cadmium selenide in a dielectric matrix

摘要
It is shown that the mechanism of light absorption by colloidal quantum dots of cadmium selenide (with mean radii of quantum dots commensurate with the Bohr radius of an exciton in a single crystal of cadmium selenide) is caused by an interband transition of an electron from the quantum level of the valence band of the quantum dot to the quantum level of the quantumwell conduction band.
