STUDY ON OPTIMUM DESIGN OF MACHINE STRUCTURES WITH RESPECT TO DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS (APPROACH TO OPTIMUM DESIGN OF MACHINE TOOL STRUCTURES WITH RESPECT TO REGENERATIVE CHATTER).

An optimum design method for machine structures using the energy-balance principle as a heuristic approach is described. The receptance synthesis program system is used for the computation of dynamic characteristics, but the method can be applied easily using many other computer programs written according to other computation principles also. The method can be applied not only to machine tools but also to ordinary machine structures.
