摘要
This paper show how LPG can be used to start a new transportation fuels and/or petrochemicals industry when processed in an LPG refinery. Saturated light hydrocarbons (C//3-C//5) can be converted into corresponding mono-olefins for polymerization and/or combined with isomerized LPG, etc. , to produce transportation fuels or petrochemicals. The approach is economically attractive and markets justify the effort. The process uses catalysts in the form of cylindrical pellets consisting of chromic oxide on an active alumina. Operation is based on the principle that reaction heat will be supplied primarily by heat of combustion of the coke deposited on the catalyst during the onstream period. The coke is burned with air, causing a temperature rise within the reactor. The endothermic reaction then absorbs that energy, decreasing the reactor temperature during the onstream period. A list of chemicals and petrochemicals, which can be economically manufactured by the process described, is included.
