Characterization of water diffusion in polyimide films using UV-visible reflection spectroscopy

摘要
The water uptake of polyimide films of different thickness is investigated using UV reflection spectroscopy with both a specular reflection accessory and a bifurcated fiber optic. Both bathochromic shift of approximately 6 nm and an approximately 20% decrease in the reflectance due to the interaction of water with the surface of the polyimide film are observed. Diffusion measurements are discussed.
