摘要
Observations regarding the condition of Type 316 stainless steel metalwork in external applications show that particulate matter depositing on the surface can facilitate corrosion pitting and rusting. Periodic removal of deposits is essential if the high durability and pleasant appearance of stainless steel is to be maintained. Of primary importance is the removal of all deposited compounds and restoration of mechanical damage on completion of construction and building work. Protective plastic films will prevent contamination, but if they are not completely removed, or are damaged prior to removal, can promote corrosion.
